Pleasant View Bible Church completes 47th year of Awana Club

Pleasant View Bible Church finished its 47th year of Awana Club in May. The awards night and the opening night for the next year will be combined on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. Bible camp scholarships were sent to the clubbers in order for them to use them this summer.

Awana Clubs are weekly meetings for boys and girls of preschool age up through eighth grade. The children enjoy a fun-filled evening consisting of scripture memory, game time and Bible lessons. Awana provides consistent, positive Biblical training to instill strong moral and spiritual values in the children.

The club is open to the public and meets weekly during the school year on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The Cubbies club was directed by Candy Springer.The children were:Roman Amundson, Vadea Bren, Samuel Jackson, Megan Jennings, Jethro Njuguna, Leah Ochsner, Liberty Rice, Sawyer Williams, Rowan Sabata and Knox Sabata.

The Sparks Club was directed by Annette Ochsner and Laura Tucker.First book finishers were Murugi Njuguna, Barrett Ochsner, Eden Ochsner, Eli Rice, Lauren Sandmeier, Ethan Spirk, Elias Amundson and Chancylor Scott.

Second book finishers were Gracie Benson, Josef Dieckmann, Alexis Enderle, Teigan Flores, Connor James, Katie Jennings, Kolton Kort, Sam Njuguna, Landon Peterson, Lorelei Peterson, Sofia Ramaekers, Zoey Rice, Mackinlee Sabata, Maddy Drake, Morgyn Emery, Derek Kotas,and Zach Seim.

Receiving the Sparky plaque for completing three books will be Xander Morales, Josie Ochsner, Jordan Ramaekers, Dezirae Rice, Grayson Rojewski, Stella Spirk and Lauren Wineteer.

The T & T Club was directed by Kelly Elge. Alpha Awardsfor completing one book are Katelyn Dieckmann, Kenley Ferguson, J J Goertzen, Hudson Harvey, Noah Huber, Beth Jennings, Boaz Ochsner, Boaz Watson, Mason Wiens and Nolan Wineteer.

Excellence Awards for completing two books will be presented to Kaitlyn Benson, Lena Groetzinger, Gideon Ochsner, Lilian Ramaekers and Brayden Wolinski.

The Challenge Award for 3 books will be given to Lexi Benson, Akyra Flores, Abbie Jennings and Cordell Ochsner.

The Timothy Award for completing four books will be presented to Lofton Ferguson, Arianna Harvey, Madelyn Ramaekers, Devin Wall and Kendal Wineteer.

Those that completed their books and said an additional four verses each week were: Kaitlyn Benson, Lexi Benson, Hudson Harvey, Abbie Jennings, Beth Jennings, Cordell Ochsner, Gideon Ochsner and Devin Wall.

The Trek Club (grades 7 and 8) was directed by Scott Springer. Our Meritorius Award winners this year for completing six books in the Awana program are:Laighla Rice, Sarah Mead, Ansley Harvey and Abby Ochsner.

Two clubbers will receive the Trek Milestone Award and they are Dane Bellis and Volynn Wall.Nathan Goerten and Chloe Graff will receive a Trek Certificate of Award.

Awana leaders who will be honored for their years of service are: Beth Gimpel, 5 years;Leeann Gimpel and Amy Grudzinski, 10 years; John Springer and Scott Springer, 20 years; Larry Epp, Linda Huenefeld and Deb Mead, 25 years; Arlene Gimpel, 30 years;Laura Tucker and Herb Roszhart, 35 years; Paul Huenefeld, 40 years.

Those leaders who have served more than 30 years will be recognized:Kevin Williams, 31 years; Bev Kremer, 34 years; Kelly Elge, 36 years; Ardys Roszhart, 37 years; Dan Huenefeld, 38 years; Dennis Elge, 39 years and Donita Springer, 42 years.

Lorna Epp served as Awana Commander this past year.
