Back again for another year, the long awaited P.O.P (People of the Past) event put on by Aurora middle schoolers filled the commons and middle school gym Thursday. There were nearly 100 students serving as living wax figures!

According to teacher Jeremy Dubas, seventh graders had been working on their project for quite some time. Students selected a prominent person of the past, researched that person’s life and then made a poster about that person. They then wrote a short speech about their person and worked on memorizing that speech.

All proceeds will benefit three charities the seventh graders have chosen, including the Aurora Adopt-a-Pet, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and Team Seas.
