The filing deadline for incumbent candidates has come and gone, though newcomers seeking voter approval this fall have nearly a week left to throw their hat in the ring for the 2022 elections.
Brandon Hunnicutt will vie for a spot on the Giltner School Board, while Francis McDonald has announced his intentions to challenge Roger Nunnenkamp for the Dist. 5 seat on the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners. Those were the only two names added to the list this past week.
Hamilton County Clerk Jill DeMers reported non-incumbents can file for the primary election up until March 1, though the incumbent deadline expired as of Feb. 15.
