Hamilton County Fair hits all the right notes in 2025
It’s fair week in Hamilton County, and by the sound of it — from country music to kids’ laughter and roaring engines — this year’s event is tuned up and ready to hit all the right notes.
The 2025 Hamilton County Fair promises a jam-packed schedule filled with tradition, community spirit, and just the right dose of new energy to keep things fresh. From 4-H shows and livestock judging to nightly entertainment and a bustling carnival, there’s truly something for everyone on the fairgrounds this week.
Headlining the entertainment lineup is country star Aaron Tippin, whose Friday night performance is sure to draw a crowd and light up the grandstand. But Tippin is just one note in a weeklong musical symphony that includes Fiesta Night, dueling pianos, local favorites like the Ain’t Dead Yet Band and The Kenestons, and a Saturday night dance party for the whole community.
And while the music draws attention, the heart of the fair remains where it has always been — with the kids. Hamilton County’s 4-H and FFA programs continue to shine, offering a foundation for learning, leadership and legacy. From the Favorite Foods competition to the animal shows and the 4-H awards, these events are a powerful reminder of the values rooted deep in our rural traditions.
Changes are part of this year’s fair story too, from the switch to wristbands for carnival rides to a rescheduled trailer race and the return of mutton busting for the first time in years. These updates, both practical and fun, show how the Ag Society continues to adapt while preserving what makes the fair special: memories made across generations.
Behind the scenes, organizers like Ag Society treasurer Christina Dose are working hard to make it all look easy, and their dedication deserves thanks. It’s no small task to coordinate a county fair, especially one that includes grandstand events, animal shows, quilt ceremonies, steak dinners, tractor pulls and a full-scale carnival.
So this week, we encourage everyone to come out and be part of the celebration. Whether you’re showing an animal, flipping burgers at the 4-H Cafe, or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of the midway, the fair is a shared experience that brings our community together.
Here’s to tradition, fun, and a whole lot of end-of-summer magic. We’ll see you at the fair.
