So thankful presidential election 4 years away

By the time you have read this the political smoke will have cleared and hopefully the national election will be over. Frankly I’m grateful national elections only come up every four years.
Don’t get me wrong. We still are fortunate to live in a democracy where we have the freedom to vote. We must also concede the 2020 election at times has been a challenge to our democracy, but we are confident our great country will survive.
We came across the following conversation among a surgeon, an architect and a politician who were arguing whose profession was the oldest. The arguing described the recent 2020 presidential   campaigning pretty well.
Said the surgeon: “Eve was made from Adam’s rib, and that surely was a surgical operation.”
“Maybe,” said the architect, “but prior to that, order was created out of chaos, and that was an architectural job.”
“But,” interrupted the politician, “somebody created the chaos first!”
While on the subject of national politics and politicians, we might as well add a few more humorous observations we came across:
There are two sides to every question and a politician usually takes both.
What this country needs is a man who can be right and President at the same time.
A politician doesn’t stand on his own record; he jumps on the other fellow’s.
The polls are places where you stand in line for a chance to decide who will spend your money.
Man is an able creature, but he has made over 32,600,000 laws and hasn’t yet improved on the Ten Commandments.
The good thing about being a defeated politician is the candidate never has to explain why he is unable to keep his campaign promises.
A long time ago a mother who had to plead with her children to do the dishes had no more trouble after she posted the following poem above the sink:
   ‘Thank God for dirty dishes,
They have a story to tell:
   While others go hungry,
   We’re eating very well.
With Home and Health and Happiness
   We shouldn’t want to fuss,
   For this stack of evidence,
God has been very good to us!”
Unfortunately, most homes today have automatic dishwashers and this poetic reminder has been absent above the kitchen sink for too long.
