Drought, disease and untimely heatwaves had a big impact on the 2023 harvest in Hamilton County, leaving farmers with a mixed bag of yields depending on location and the timing and amount of rain events. In spite of the drought, the USDA predicted in mid-November that Nebraska’s corn harvest would show a 14 percent increase over last year’s production, however, some are skeptical of those numbers…
