Testing Ag Performance Solutions (TAPS) is a program developed by the University of Nebraska Research and Extension specialists and educators to study real-life farm management through competitions.
Matt Stockton, agricultural economist specialist and Daran Rudnick, agricultural water management specialist shared what the data gathered through the program has shown them about irrigation strategies to help impact profit and productivity.
“One of our goals is that we want producers to become the best farm managers that they can become,” Stockton explained. “We also want to increase profitability, sustainability, employee use efficiency, conservation and of to protect the environment.”
The program utilizes competitors for their data with the chance to win money, awards and plaques as well. They have found that this drives innovation in the participants from across Nebraska and neighboring states.
