A group of Hamilton County fourth graders took a field trip to the Hamilton County Fairgrounds for the annual celebration of Ag Day on Sept. 27, where together they learned about food comes from and the work that goes into putting grub on the table.
“Some students don’t realize where their food comes from, how it is produced or how much effort it takes to get food to the store for them to eat,” said Hamilton County 4-H Coordinator Hillary Fuhrman. “The goal of our Hamilton County fourth grade Ag Day was for the youth to see and learn through hands-on learning experiences from area agricultural producers and educators.”
From those who organized the event, this year left a good impression on both adults and students who came for knowledge. Another group there to assist in the day’s success were Aurora FFA officers Kirsten Jensen, Emi Huls, Lukas Fry, Garrett Bellis, Devin Danielson and Morgan Bonifas. FFA secretary and Aurora High School junior Bonifas noted the excitement of the children.
