The Hamilton County Extension Office has a new 4-H Extension Educator and her name is Emily Soll.
Soll hails from northeast Nebraska, more specifically Coleridge, and has spent a life in agriculture and 4-H.
“I grew up on our family farm where we grow corn, soybeans, alfalfa and have a cow/calf operation,” she said. “I’ve always been involved in 4-H. I grew up in the 4-H organization and it’s really an organization that gave a lot to me.”
Doing farm chores and helping with everything from planting and harvest to fixing fences was part of her early life. Soll’s love for 4-H pushed her toward the career and she now has a chance to give back.
“That’s my goal as an educator here in Merrick and Hamilton counties,” she said. “(It’s) to give back to the youth.”
