Part one of beef webinar explains complexity of issue

Beef cattle are a critical part of a sustainable food system. That is the argument of Dr. Sara Place, chief sustainability officer with Elanco Animal Health. 
“Hopefully I add some understanding to this issue that can be controversial and a little bit complex, which is sustainability,” she began, approaching the topic in a September 2020 webinar through UNL Beef. “So just to start, we think about this issue of sustainability. It is an issue that, as I just mentioned is quite complicated. And part of the reason why is because it’s an issue that cuts across multiple domains.”
This issue focused on the environment, social and economic issues, she added. And all of said topics can intersect, having relationships and trading off with each other to make a complicated understanding.
