Hampton moves White Blossom street project up

Following a hearing on the village’s state-required 2025 One and Six Year Street Improvement Plan, the Hampton Board of Trustees voted Monday night to remove one project from the one year plan and replace it with another on the other end of town that had previously been one of the six-year projects.

The Hamilton County Corn Growers teamed up last week to harvest the seed plot acreage on the Grosshans farm located on the east edge of Aurora along Highway 34. It was a picture-perfect day for harvesting, and the crews were done picking the corn and documenting moisture and yields by early afternoon.

Phillips board plans for park upgrade

The Village of Phillips is set to move forward with plans to upgrade the town’s George Jensen Memorial Park on West Street. At the October meeting of the village board last Tuesday, the trustees learned that two bids had been received to install a sprinkler system for irrigation in the park.

Dozens stand for life Sunday

A group of nearly 40 people from many church denominations joined the National Life Chain Sunday, holding anti-abortion signs in a peaceful “Stand for Life” along Highway 34 in Aurora. This was reported to be the 20th anniversary of the event in Aurora.
