Carol Jones, age 83 of Colby, KS, formerly of Twin Lakes, east of Central City, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, KS.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 15 at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.    Rev. Penny Schulz will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 14 at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.  Current CDC guidelines will be in effect with facemasks required.

Carol Josephine Jones, the daughter of Alfred Lynn and Susan Margaret (Hutsell) Simms was born on August 28, 1937 in Hamilton County, and passed away on January 11, 2021 in Colby, KS at the age of 83.
Carol grew up in Aurora and attended Aurora High School.  She worked at JM McDonalds for several years.
On August 15, 1954, she was united in marriage to Victor John Jones, Sr at Aurora.  They made their home in Aurora.  Carol worked for Monforts in Grand Island for 18 ½ years and also worked at Wendy’s part-time.  Carol and Victor moved to Twin Lakes east of Central City where they made their home and they enjoyed all the lake activities and being there with their family.  Victor passed away on January 14, 1998.  Carol lived with her daughter Melody in Omaha for a few years before moving to Colby, KS to be near her daughter Theresa, where she resided until her death.   
Carol was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church.  She enjoyed reading books.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Victor Jones, Sr., son, Owen Jones, great-great-grandson, Cinch Barta and sisters, Betty Lou Lager and Luella Larson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Victor (Shari) Jones, Jr. of Nixa, MO, Melody (Steve) Austin of Omaha and Theresa (Rick) Burton of Colby, KS; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
