After the slowest of slow starts offensively, the Huskies kept things interesting in the second half against a grinder Beatrice squad.
Aurora rallied from a 14-1 deficit to eventually send the game to overtime, but the Orangemen were too much in the end, stealing one 39-30 in the Huskies’ first home game of the season Saturday.
Aurora coach Kevin Asher was fired up for his boys, a huge fist pump on the floor after the Huskies held Beatrice on the final possession of regulation. According to the coach, the Huskies played at a different level defensively.
“We have matured as a group and understand what it takes to win, we just didn’t start well,” Asher said after the game. “We played so well defensively, so physical. We just weren’t that way on offense. You can’t get behind the programs were playing and be dictated the entire game.”
