The Aurora City Council approved two utility easements last week in a meeting featuring a very light agenda.
Council members voted at the Oct. 26 meeting to approve an easement for the south sanitary sewer interceptor main located on the southeast portion of Poco Creek Golf Course, a project now well under way.
The council also approved a utility easement for the construction and maintenance of an above-ground generator for the Highway 14 overpass lift station to assist in the discharge of storm water in the event of a power outage. The easement is located at Lot 1 in the Danhauer Subdivision, which is on the east side of the street.
Mayor Marlin Seeman explained during the meeting that the project addresses a need which became evident earlier this year when storm water at the bottom of the overpass blocked traffic for a time. “This seems to address that need so we’re getting both a generator and an easement to put it above ground,” Seeman said.
Jeff Munoz of Taurus Plumbing in Aurora was also approved for a plumber’s license in the city.
