The Aurora boys and girls basketball teams each had opportunities to win Saturday and were unsuccessful.

The Husky boys led late in the fourth quarter as the Wolves rallied to win 68-62 while the Lady Huskies couldn't finish a rally during a 46-36 defeat.

In the boys game, Preston Ramaekers made a free throw to give Aurora the lead, 61-60 after trailing 51-43 in the third.

However, Elkhorn North finished the game on an 8-1 run to hand Aurora a home loss.

Cayden Phillips and Tate Nachtigal combined to score 41 in the loss.

As for the girls, Aurora trailed by 10 multiple times in the fourth quarter before cutting that to 40-35 on back-to-back Lexi Jones buckets with 1:52 to play.

That would be as close as the Lady Huskies got down the stretch, however, in a 10-point loss as Elkhorn North remained undefeated on the season.

Cassidy Knust finished with 11 points to lead Aurora.

The Lady Huskies will be back in action Tuesday in a standalone contest against Holdrege while both teams will be back at home Thursday against Kearney Catholic.
