The atmosphere was electric and the play on the court matched the intensity.

Aurora had the advantage first, but Grand Island Northwest had the last laugh, defeating the Lady Huskies in four, 23-25, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21 in the B-6 district final from GINW Saturday morning.

The Lady Huskies trailed 21-16 in the first, but rallied behind a Delaney Nachtigal ace and Lexi Jones kill that made it 21-19. Nachtigal added a kill that made it 23-21 before Jones and Rachel Hunter added their own swings to give Aurora game point. The Lady Huskies took the first set after a GINW hitting error.

From there, though, GINW was able to win close, competitive sets two and three.

In the fourth, Aurora rallied to a 21-all tie before the Vikings finished the match off with a 4-0 run to punch its ticket to state.

Aurora's season comes to an end with a 15-19 record.
