Maxine Hansen
Maxine Hansen, 95, of Aurora, formerly of Hampton, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 7 at United Lutheran Church in Hampton with Pastor Annette Minderman officiating. A Private family graveside service will be held at United Lutheran Cemetery prior to the service. There will be no visitation.

Maxine May (Wolff) Hansen, daughter of Glen and Marie (Green) Wolff, was born in Aurora, on September 6, 1928 and passed away on June 2, 2024, in Aurora at the age of 95.
She went to District 56 School through the 8th grade and graduated from Aurora High School in 1947. Maxine married Emerald (Bud) Hansen on June 27, 1948 at EUB Church in Aurora. They lived in Lincoln, Hastings, and Grand Island before moving to Hampton in 1963. She was a longtime member of the United Lutheran Church, and helped make quilts for over 20 years. She was proud to have helped make quilts for her 10 grandchildren when they graduated and baby quilts for her 17 great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Hampton Legion Auxiliary. Maxine was the head cook at Hampton Public Schools for many years. She is remembered by many former Hampton students for her homemade cinnamon rolls. She then opened the “Hansen House” café in Hampton. She worked for J&F Investments in Aurora until her retirement. She loved baking, always sharing her treats with family and friends and she loved her flowers. She loved going to coffee at the C-Store and talking with friends. She moved to East Park Villa in Aurora in September, 2022, and she loved living there and made many new friends. Her greatest joy were visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Marie Wolff, husband Bud, brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Becky Wolff, Vern and Carolynn Wolff, and nephew, Gary Wolff.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Carla Land of Aurora, Brad (Pam) Hansen of Lincoln, and Sharon (Dean) Klute of Hampton, 10 grandchildren, Janet (Dave) May of Henderson, Heather Land of Aurora, Derick (Katie) Land of Aurora, Dustin (Bailey) Land of Aurora, Destiny (Alex) Mousel of Henderson, Lindsey Hansen of Atchison, KS, Nolan (Kimmy) Hansen of San Marcos, CA, Kendra (Josh) Betz of Pewaukee, WI, Kyle (Lauren) Klute of Omaha, and Kelsey (Justin) Harders of Cairo, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter, brothers-in-law, Neil Hansen and Larry Hansen, sisters-in-law, Janelle Petersen and Euni Hansen, many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
