Katharyn James
Katharyn James, age 76, of Aurora, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at Westfield Quality Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 23 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate. Interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Katharyn Diane James, the daughter of Donald C. and Wanda (Cosier) Enderle was born in Aurora, on October 18, 1948 and passed away in Aurora, on October 17, 2025 at the age of 76.
Kathy grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1966. She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she studied Home Economics.
Kathy married Gayle James on March 28, 1970 in Aurora. They farmed north of Aurora. They had three children, Susan, John and Jeffrey. Kathy started her own small business, Buttons and Bows. She created hair ribbons and bows, that were purchased across the region.
In her younger years, Kathy was heavily involved in 4-H and showing cattle for 4-H and Aksarben. She was awarded the Map Maker Award from the Aurora Chamber in 1967. Kathy has volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader, for 4-H, and many other organizations and committees over the years. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Kathy was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gayle of Aurora; three children, Susan (Cory) Pawloski of Papillion, John James of Aurora and Jeffrey James of Lincoln; grandson, Benjamin Pawloski of Papillion and other family members and friends.
