Jacqueline Adelung
Jacqueline A. Adelung, age 63, of Amherst, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at her home. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney with Pastor Nicolas Jenswold officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2025 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church or Yanney Heritage Park. A reception will follow the memorial service at Younes Convention Center South. Jackie was born in Aurora, on June 27, 1961 to Keith and Maxine Hutsell. Jackie was baptized on July 16th, 1961 and confirmed May 11, 1975 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora. She graduated from Marquette High School as valedictorian in 1979. Jackie attended Kearney State College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1983. She also received her MBA degree from Kearney State in 1987. While in college she began her career at the Buckle part-time in 1980, and after graduation took a full-time position until retiring in 2007 to stay home with her children. On September 10, 1994, the Lord united her in marriage to Les Adelung at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney. To this union three children were born: Trevor, Riley, and Austin. They made their home outside of Amherst. She was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kearney. Jackie was the rock of her family, deeply involved in raising her three boys. She was a devout Christian, loving mother, wife, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She especially loved following her three boys playing sports at Amherst.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Les, sons Trevor, Riley, and Austin; brothers Brian Hutsell of Kyle, Texas, Larry (Lisa) Hutsell of Loveland, Colorado, Kevin (Renee) Hutsell of Marquette; sister Monica (Scott) Richert of Gresham; mother-in-law Dolores Adelung of Kearney; sister-in-law Pam (Martin) Riggins of Kearney; brother-in-law Perry (JoDee) Adelung of Merriam, Kansas, and many other relatives and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, and father-in-law Roland.
