Henning Carl Johnson Jr.

Henning Carl Johnson Jr. of Evanston, Illinois, passed away Jan. 31, 2025 in Evanston. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
Henning was born Nov. 8, 1937 in Minden, to Henning Carl Johnson Sr. and Hilda (Carlson) Johnson.
He married Margaret (Cording) Johnson on June 30, 1974 in Hebron. 
Carl Johnson was born in Minden and grew up in Central City.  After his time in the Army he met Margaret and they were married for 50 years.  They lived in Aurora for over 45 years where he worked as an electrician for himself and companies in Hampton, Aurora, and Hastings. He finished his career at Proctor and Gamble.  Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, which included his grandkids Cole, Grace, Kylie and Ella.  He enjoyed traveling to visit his kids and vacationing in Colorado, watching Nebraska Cornhusker Football and Volleyball, and you could always find him with a good cup of coffee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Harry Johnson, Richard Johnson, and Howard Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret, son Ross (Jennifer) Johnson of Austin, TX and daughter Laura (Brian) Martin of Skokie, IL; sister Gloria Albright of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Cole Johnson, Grace Johnson, Kylie Martin and Ella Martin.
