Dorothy Schroeder

Dorothy Schroeder, age 69, of Aurora, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at CHI Health-St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. 
Dorothy’s wishes were to be cremated. Inurnment will be at Aurora Cemetery Columbarium. No Visitation. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Dorothy Claire Schroeder, the daughter of Gail Roger and Carol Jean (Lentz) Kingston was born at Aurora, on February 15, 1956 and passed away at Grand Island, on October 17, 2025 at the age of 69. 
Dorothy grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School. She attended business school in Lincoln for one year. Dorothy worked as an advertising secretary for Gateway Realty and then as an office assistant in Grand Island. She then worked in Aurora as a bookkeeper at the Aurora Mall, Lonetree Rentals and Ken’s Motel doing billing once a month. 
Dorothy married Gregory Schroeder on August 25, 1978 at Aurora. They had a daughter, Kristi. 
Dorothy loved cooking with her daughter. She was a diehard Nebraska Football and Volleyball fan. Dorothy watched and cheered every game on the TV. She also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL and cheering on the Boston Red Sox with her daughter. They loved spending time together. 
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Gail Kingston. 
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kristi Michelle Schroeder of Aurora and many other family members and friends.
