Janet Belitz
Janet Lee Belitz, 88, of Central City, Nebraska died Friday, October 17, 2025 at CHI St. Francis in Grand Island, Nebraska. Funeral services will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Erik Hart officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.

Janet was born on June 24, 1937 to Lynn and Opal (Funkhauser) Conger in Aurora, Nebraska and graduated with the class of 1955. She grew up and attended school in Aurora. She then attended Kearney State College and received her teaching degree.
She married Ronald August Belitz on August 8, 1959 at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Janet taught school but eventually stayed home on the farm to help Ron. Janet was a hard worker and helped out on the farm for fifty plus years. She would babysit her grandkids and sometimes the neighborhood kids as well.
She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Fullerton after her marriage and transferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Central City in 1966. She was very active in the church where she was a member of LWML and the Ladies Guild. She also taught Bible school and Sunday school. One of Janet’s favorite hobbies was cross stitching. She was also an avid Huskers fan especially football and volleyball. She would never miss watching a game and was always much more optimistic than her sons were.
She is survived by two sons- Steve and Darla Belitz of Archer, NE; and Brian and Patty Belitz of Central City, NE; sisters- Donna Fowler and Sharon Ingram of Omaha, NE; brother- Jack and Donna Conger of Siloam Springs, AR; four grandchildern- Christina (David) Berney of Wolbach, NE; Robert Belitz of Aurora, NE; Alyssa (Anavin) Mounivong of Omaha, NE; and Tanner Belitz of Archer, NE; three great grandchildren- Colin, Serenity, and Cooper Berney, and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, granddaughters- Kelsey Belitz and Summer Simon; brothers in law- Bob Fowler and Ron Ingram; brothers and sisters in law- Dean and Lillian Trosper, and Elmer and Lois Belitz.
