Jack Payne

John (Jack) Raymond Payne, 82, of Aurora, passed away on Feb. 3, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona.
Jack was born on Nov. 27, 1942 to George and Paulina (Polly) Hammes Payne.
Jack grew up on ranches in the panhandle of Nebraska. He was a mechanic for Missouri Valley Road Construction and the owner of ABC General Contractors Inc. from 1971 until retirement.
Jack married Judy Steckelberg on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
He is survived by his wife Judy of St. George, Utah, children Bill and Dawn Payne of Tucson, Arizona and Tereasa and Simon Hutchings of New York, NY; four grandchildren, sisters Becky and Dallas Gerdes of Cozad and Pam and Cal Williams of Winona, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother George Payne Jr. and sister DeAnna Irish.
Adair-Avalon Funeral Home in Tucson, Arizona is in charge of the arrangements.
