Naomi Fassnacht
Naomi Darlene Fassnacht, age 86 of Fairmont, died Sunday, December 22, 2024 in Fairmont. She was born on February 25, 1938 to Harley and Bertha (Roemer) Fassnacht in Geneva. Naomi was the 7th child of Harley and Bertha. Since she was the baby, they called her little “Tot”. The nephews and nieces knew her as Tot or Nome.
She grew up on the family farm, just across the road from the Little Blue River, and graduated from McCool Junction High School in 1957. She helped with all the activities on the farm; cooking, gardening, animal care, and of course hosting when all the grandkids came to visit. Naomi worked a variety of jobs including waitressing, cooking for group meals, and 25 years as a nursing assistant. She was an active member of the McCool Garden Club, McCool First Lutheran Church and then the York Lutheran Church, and was strong in her Christian faith.
Naomi is survived by her older brother Ramer, four nephews, and twelve nieces. She also leaves behind many dear friends, who will miss her fun and happy companionship.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Wallace, brothers Dwight and Harley, sisters Louise and Byrdene, and niece Janet Adams, nephew-in-law Barry Elder, great-nephew Barrett Adams.
