Nina Marie Jensen

Nina Marie Jensen was born Dec. 20, 1935 and passed away Feb. 13, 2023. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg near Marquette.
Nina Marie was born on Dec. 20, 1935 to Kenneth and Clara June Johnson. She was raiseed in Marquette and attended and graduated from Marquette in 1953.
On April 25, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart Alton Jensen. They were blessed with seven children: Terresa, Billy, Kenneth, Cheryl, twins Danny and David and Cynthia. She also accepted into her arms foster children Barbara, Chris, Ella and Allen Eitnier.
Nina Marie and Alton moved to California in the early 60’s where they raised their children. Following his death she moved back to Grand Island until moving to Florida.
During her lifetime she worked in banking at 1st National Bank and Bank of the West. Nina and Alton owned and operated Frans Bike Shop in Milpitas, CA. She returned to banking with F.D.I.C. as examiner and liquidator until she retired in 1996.
She was affiliated with the Women of the Moose since January of 1982 and held many offices. She spent the last two years of her life at Moose Haven Retirement in Orange Park, Florida.
Nina Marie loved to travel and had visited many countries but was happiest when traveling with Alton in their 5th wheel.
Her proudest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Terresa (Bill) Verplank, Billy Jensen, Kenny (Faye) Jensen, Cheri (Ron) Miedema, Danny (Anai) Jensen, David Jensen and Cindy (Dave) Keane. Her grandchildren Michelle (Eric) Smith, Jennifer (Jon) Foreman, Tracey (Clifton) Walsh, Veronica (Jamie) Morse, Annmarie (Eric) Johnson, Danielle (Emily) Jensen, Sarah (Marcos) Cortes, Brian and Kristina Jensen, Andrea (Alberto) Guzman, Erin (Will) Deweese, Julie Stroup, Krista and Kyle Jensen, Elizabeth and Cole Keane, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her sister Clara June and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother-in-law Allen, sister Roma, daughter-in-law Carmen and nieces Charlotte and Karensa.
