Mary Van Housen

Mary L. Van Housen, age 82, formerly of Aurora, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022.
Mary was born April 21, 1940, in Gibbon.  She spent most of her life living in Nebraska where she served as a nurse. In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating and dancing. Throughout her life, she enjoyed making crafts, gardening, reading the bible, and spending time with close friends, but most of all she enjoyed her children. She relocated to Tennessee in 2017 to enjoy her retirement years.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert G. and Mary E. Van Housen; five sisters: Eleanor Strotman, Evelyn Bullard, Willa Burton, Mavis Goertzen and LaVonne Snyder; one brother, Herbert F. Van Housen; and grandson Darryl Atkins.
She is survived by her children, Mary Kay Welch, Adrian Atkins, Jr. (Kim), and Cheryl Daggett (Greg); seven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Per Mary’s wishes there will be no formal ceremony.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
