Greg Penner

Greg J. Penner, 61, of Grand Island, passed away July 11, 2021 at CHI-Health St Francis.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 16 at 10 a.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home.  Father Jorje Canela will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Greg was born on Sept. 21, 1959 in Grand Island to Melvin “Jake” and Elaine (Strotman) Penner. He was raised and received his education in Aurora, graduating from Aurora High School in 1977. He went on to earn an associate’s degree in drafting from Southeast Community College in Milford.
In 1983, Greg was united in marriage to Sharon Florian. Three daughters were blessed into this union, Shaina, Danielle, and Kristen. Greg was a drafting engineer for Chief Automotive for 26 years.
In his spare time, Greg enjoyed watching NASCAR, baseball, and football. He also liked to ride his motorcycle and go golfing, hunting, and camping. One of his favorite past times was traveling around to car racing events. More than anything, Greg was incredibly proud of his daughters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Shaina (Joe) Skarka, Danielle (Steve) Sloan, Kristen (Jason Patterson) Penner; six grandchildren with a seventh on the way; sister, Vicki (Jerry) Van Ackeren; and brother-in-law, Ed Ryan; along with other family members.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Cheryl Ryan.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
