Food pantry help much appreciated

Dear Editor: The Hamilton County Food Pantry would like to thank Hamilton County for helping the pantry once again surpass our goal during Can Care-A-Van. Our goal this year was 30,000 pounds and we collected in food and monetary donations 45,648 pounds.

Born in a hotel tale nothing compared to Churchill

Over the years I raised a few eyebrows when in a conversation about someone asking where I was born. My answer, “In a hotel” generally left a puzzled look on the face of the listener as he/she hesitated to pursue anymore questioning.

Tom Kropp is a recognizable figure across the state for his legendary accomplishments that started in an Aurora uniform 50 years ago.  Just the mention of the name Kropp brings stories of game-winners, no hitters and the impossible becoming possible.

Modern era technology can make a guy feel foolish

Time sure flies when you grow older. We guess we shouldn’t complain. At least we’re still around. Time flying was evident in our household a week ago when we were searching for the American flag to fly for the Memorial Day on our home’s flagpole.
