Things had dampened a bit for the home Aurora Pinnacle Bank Post 42 Seniors team before the skies actually did the same.
A solid starting pitching effort from Cauy Walters wasn’t enough as St. Paul rallied for a 13-6 win Sunday at Mitchell Field.
Walters threw well, going four complete innings while allowing one earned run on five hits with three strikeouts.
After a 1-2-3 start to the game, Aurora took the early lead in the bottom of the first as Cayden Phillips began the game with a leadoff double.
From there, Phillips put the pressure on St. Paul, stealing third base before scoring the game’s first run on a passed ball.
Two hit batsmen and a walk loaded the bases for Aurora while Dylan Dubas scored on a wild pitch to make it a 2-0 game. However, Aurora would leave two on in scoring position.
St. Paul got on the board in the top of the third, scoring two on an Aurora error, tying the game.
