It was a tough travel day for Hamilton County fans as Hampton headed way west to Hay Springs while Aurora had a much shorter trip to Hastings for a rematch with Adams Central.

Neither game fared well for the area teams as Hampton lost 66-26 while Aurora dropped a tight 9-7 contest to the Patriots.

Hampton fell behind 12-0 before a safety and kick return by Jack Bullis made it 12-10. From there, though, Hay Springs 46-8 for the rest of the first half to get the win. Hampton finishes the year 6-3, still searching for its first playoff win since 2009.

Aurora looked prime for a revenge victory, leading 7-6 early, but an Adams Central field goal off a Husky turnover turned out to be the difference. Aurora finishes its season 6-4, the first time the Huskies failed to make the football finals since 2020.
