The weather was nearly ideal and the ANR's area football teams took advantage.

For the first time in 2023, it was a perfect 4-0 week for Aurora, Giltner, High Plains and Hampton during week six of the high school football season in the final Friday before October.

The game was close early on, but the pass game took over and Aurora never looked back, taking down Minden 32-6 at home.

Aurora held Minden scoreless in the second half while Booker Scheierman threw for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns as the Huskies move its record to 4-2.

As for Giltner, the Hornets were able to stop a potent Nebraska Lutheran passing attack as the Hornets picked up its second win of the season, 28-16.

Giltner ran the ball with ease for most of the night and picked up two big fourth quarter interceptions from Taylor Smith and Phillip Kreutz.

High Plains won its fourth game in a row while Hampton won its fourth via forefit.

Listed are all area teams and the scores of those games with the winning team in bold:

Aurora vs Minden, 32-6

Giltner vs Nebraska Lutheran, 28-16

High Plains @ Palmer, 70-6

Hampton @ Santee, 1-0 Forefit
