Marvin Lynn Koozer, 89, of Aurora, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Memorial Community Care.   
Lynn’s wishes were to be cremated.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 11 at the Aurora United Methodist Church.  Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate.  Private family inurnment was held at the Aurora Cemetery.   Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Aurora United Methodist Church.   In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to the Hamilton County Ambulance or Aurora Volunteer Fire Dept.   Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.   Condolences may be emailed to the family at www.higbymortuary.com.
Marvin Lynn Koozer was born January 12, 1937 at Geneva, the oldest of five children of Royal Franklin and Florence Marie (Linder) Koozer.   Lynn passed away on February 3, 2026, at Aurora, at the age of 89. 
Lynn, as he was known to everyone, was baptized April 6, 1952, at the First Methodist Church in Geneva.   
Lynn grew up in Geneva and attended grade school and graduated from Geneva High School with the class of 1955.   While in high school, and for the summer, he worked for Fillmore County, primarily on the bridge crew. 
On September 19, 1955, Lynn joined the U.S. Navy.   He was an aviation electronics technician.
Lynn and Suzann Rae Miller were married April 13, 1958, at Geneva.   They were blessed with two children, Terri Jo and Douglas Lynn. 
Lynn’s assignments took him to Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, New Jersey, where he was attached to an airship (blimp) squadron, Florida, Mississippi, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.   He served aboard the ships USS Lake Champlain, Forrestal, and Independence.   Lynn was honorably discharged in 1969. 
Lynn was employed at Western Auto Supply Co. in Meridian and Jackson, MS, from 1969 to 1974.   The family returned to Nebraska and moved to Aurora in 1974.   He worked at Country General Stores (Wheeler’s), Great Plains Asbestos, and Hope Home Furnishings & Flooring in Central City. 
Lynn spent countless hours researching the Koozer, Linder, and Miller family genealogy.   He also volunteered at The Plainsman Museum and Senior Center in Aurora.   
Lynn was preceded in death by his wife Suzann, parents, sister, Beverly Schmidt, brothers Elvin and Harold (Pete), Darrel Koozer, son-in-law, Jon Hope and great-grandson Mason Jon Hope. 
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his daughter, Terri Hope of Aurora; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Sheri Koozer of Eagle, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Justin Michael and Meghan Hope and their daughters, Margaret Catherine and Elizabeth Claire, Daniel Lynn and Hailey Koozer, Jamie Christopher and Kylie Hope and their sons, Brody Lee, Rhett Lincoln, Jeremy Todd and Lisa Hope, and their sons, Blake McCoy, Cooper Jon, Jace Wyatt, Ashley Marie and Nolan Bloom and their son Case Nolan Bloom, and Joel Philip and Savannah Hope and their children, Willa Jo, and Boone Michael Hope and step-daughter, Kinsley Theresa Northrup.   Also surviving are sister-in-law, Janet Koozer of Waukon, IA and sister-in-law, Joyce Koozer of Fairmont and nieces, nephew, and cousins.
