Strasheim Obituary
Marcia Kay Strasheim, 73, of Phillips, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at her home.
Service and a celebration of Marcia’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. To honor Marcia’s wishes, cremation will follow her service and there will be a graveside service at a “warmer” date.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
Marcia was born September 26, 1949, in Grand Island, the daughter of Gene and Betty (West) Derr. She grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School, class of 1967. She later attended Mary Lanning Nursing School and graduated in 1978. She enjoyed her computer and received a degree in computer programming from Hastings CCC in 1992.
In 1967, Marcia married Donald Gay. They had three daughters, Donna, Kathy and Vicki. This marriage dissolved and in 1979, she married Paul Strasheim. They had two children, Sarah and Jon.
In addition to her computer, Marcia loved decorating for Christmas. She also enjoyed being outdoors, whether tending to her flowers or watching her silly squirrels. Most of all, Marcia enjoyed and loved her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her.
Those who cherish her memory include her children, Donna (Jason) Kelsch, Kathy (Todd) Ronnfeldt, Vicki (Rob) Berney, Sarah (Bryan) McIntosh and Jon Strasheim; 13 grandchildren, Amanda (Caleb) Juett, Justin (Kelsey) Gay, Sebastian (Ann) Ronnfeldt, Stephen (Angel) Gay, Devin (Misty) Fritz, Tristen Ronnfeldt, Jason McIntosh, Emma Fritz, Elizabeth (Luke) Wiseman, Casandra (Jer) Nunnenkamp, Allison McIntosh, Riley Berney and Morgan Berney; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother, Jeff Derr and sister, Connie (Terry) Bird.
She was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Paul Strasheim; and brother, Bill Derr.
