Lorene A. Friesen, age 88 of Henderson, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Henderson.  She was born October 8, 1932, in rural York County, to Peter G. and Kathryn (Friesen) Kroeker.  Ruben and Lorene were united in marriage on December 6, 1950, at Henderson.  The union was blessed with four daughters:  Joyce, Dorothy, Kathy, and Joann.
Lorene worked in the home and was a helpmate with Ruben in their farming operation.  She loved to sew and cook, there was always a pleasant aroma coming from her kitchen.  In her spare time, during the winter months you would find her reading books from the church library.  In their later years, Lorene and Ruben enjoyed traveling and had visited Canada and all 50 states.  Family was important to Lorene and she enjoyed being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and their families; Joyce and Ron Janzen of rural York, Dorothy and Tim Robbins of Omaha, Kathy and Don Weedin of Aurora, and Joann and Wayne Kalvoda of rural Glenville, grandchildren include:  Andrew Janzen, wife Amy and their children Dylan and Alyssa of Hastings, Jennifer Janzen and fiancé Joe Sampson of Lincoln, Rebecca, husband Kevin Schultz and their children Luke, Hazel, Charlotte, and Clara of Henderson, Anne Marie Robbins of Omaha,  Katie and her husband Matthew Case and their child Jonah of Morse Bluff, Michael Robbins, wife Whitney and their daughters Evan and Lane of Omaha, Lisa, husband Micah Crosley and their daughters Savannah, Ellie, Madison and Zoe of Salina, Kansas, Jason Weedin, wife Lindsey and their sons Theo, Asher, and Truman of Lincoln, Ryan Weedin, wife Melissa and their children MaKenna, Joshua, Cameron, Gavin and Jayden of Hampton, and Zachary Kalvoda and Kaylee Kalvoda of Glenvil.  Lorene is also survived by a niece Konnie and her husband Keith Phelps of Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Marvin and a granddaughter Taylor Leigh.
Graveside services will be held at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Bethesda Mennonite Cemetery northeast of Henderson.  Memorial services to follow at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson at 10:30 a.m., with the Reverend Seth Miller officiating.  Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m., on Wednesday at the mortuary in Henderson.  Her family will greet friends and neighbors from 7-9 p.m. that same evening at the mortuary.  Memorials may be directed to the MCC Meat Canner.  Online condolences may be sent to her family at www.metzmortuary.com
