Barbara Epp, age 76, of Omaha, formerly of Grand Island and Aurora, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Immanuel Courtyard Assisted Living in Omaha.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 15 at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.  Inurnment will be in the Aurora Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be emailed through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Barbara Ann Epp, the daughter of Lloyd and Mary (Reisinger) Kruse was born on August 31, 1945 at Aurora, and passed away on August 11, 2022 at Omaha, at the age of 76.
Barb was born and raised in Aurora where she attended schools and graduated from Aurora High School in 1964.  She babysat for many families and worked at the Westside Café and Hested’s while in school.
Barb was united in marriage to El Roy Epp on July 10, 1965 at the EUB Church in Aurora.  Following their marriage she worked as a hairdresser for 20 years.  She then was a beauty shop manager at Lakeview Nursing Home in Grand Island and later the manager of a group home in Missouri.    
Barb was a member of the Order of Rainbows, a Columbus Women’s Club, Beautiful Savior Omaha Women’s Club and was a Scout leader for Boy’s Scouts and Brownies.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island where she served as a junior choir director.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Lyle Kruse, two nephews and two nieces.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, El Roy of Omaha; four children, Micheal (Jeannie) Epp of Grand Island, Shawn (Nettie) Epp of Plattsmouth, Carrie (Steven) Swaney of Blair and Jody Jinright (Jeff Kubik) of Sprague; 14 grandchildren, Matthew (Brian Ogle), Clinton, Abby, Christopher (Sydney), Timothy, Kristen (Mike Sandoval) Stephen, Payton, Corryn, Addisyn, Brin, Jarret, Jagger and Kyla; 6 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her by her brothers, Gerald (Jan) Kruse, Donald (Jan) Kruse and Roger (Bonnie) Kruse; sister, Phyllis (Darrell) Purdy, many other family members and friends.
