Aurora's boys and girls wrestling teams picked up three semifinalists during Thursday afternoon's opening session at the state wrestling championships.

Kehlanee Bengtson along with Britton Kemling and Jack Allen secured spots in Friday night's semifinals with a pair of victories.

Bengtson won her first match in 29 seconds before earning a second period pinfall in the quarterfinals over Yutan's Jordyn Campbell. Bengtson will see Kayden Sipp of Adams Central in Friday's semifinals.

Kemling not only won his first state championships match, but secured his 100th career win Thursday with a quarterfinal win. After a 3-2 decision win, Kemling secured his 100th career victory with a first period pinfall. This is just Kemling's third tournament back after a knee injury from football. The Aurora senior will see Deegan Nelson of Beatrice in Friday's semifinals.

As for Allen, the senior won his first match in 56 seconds before grinding out an 8-4 decision win over South Sioux City's Mwamba Ngeleka. Allen will match up with Ashland-Greenwood's Luke Lambert in Friday's semifinals.

Karsten Hohm, Kellen Peterson and Natalie Bisbee won first round matches, but each lost in the quarterfinals and will be back in consolations Friday. Aubrie Beed and Angelina Leininger lost opening round matches.
