On February 10, 2023 Kevin Mason of Aurora lost his life suddenly in a car accident at the age of 59.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 18 at 11 a.m. at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. No visitation.  Luncheon to follow services at the Eagles Club in Central City.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
On January 7, 1964 Kevin Lyle Mason was born to Larry and Lois (Roumph) Mason in Grand Island.  He was number 6 of 9 siblings. He grew up and attended school in Central City and graduated in 1982. In his early 30’s he met the love of his life. On June 15, 1996 Kevin married Janice Pishna. The couple shared 5 children. He was a very hard worker and a jack of many trades, farming, construction, bridge building, electrician at Bonnavilla, maintenance for apartment complexes. Most recently machine maintenance at Overhead Door, and machine operator at Hornady. Through the years he enjoyed many hobbies and gained many friends. He participated in co-ed softball, bowling, pool, figure 8’s, demo derbies, jeeping, camping, fishing, horseshoes, frisbee golf, and anything outdoors. He was a long-time member of the Eagles Club in Central City. He loved working on the jeeps with his boys and nephews and spending time at the river with his family. One of the greatest joys of his life was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Jan Mason of Aurora and their 5 children: Brad and Clarissa Gross of Aurora, Dakota Mason and Jade Longbine of Grand Island, Beaux Mason and Dakota Russell of Clay Center, Zaine and Chanse Mason of Aurora; 5 grandchildren Kyler and Jaylah Gross, Zaylee and Hazley Mason, and Paycen Mason; siblings: Kirk and Krissy Mason of Polk, Kerry and Mitch Price of Wood River, Kaylyn and Carl Shivley of Clarks, Kathy and Rick Davidson of Grand Island, Kristie and Tom Granfield of Hoskins, Karla and Jim Jensen of Polk, Kelly and Denise of Aurora; wife’s family: mother-in-law Ryta Hartzell of Grand Island, sister in laws Bruce and Trenella McCoy of Grand Island, Lori Pishna and Dale Burns of Grand Island, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many many close friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Lois and Larry Mason, sister Kim Shivley, parents-in-law Don and Sandy Pishna, and father-in-law Bob Hartzell.
