Nola Belle Hodgson passed away February 7, 2023 at the Aurora Memorial Hospital.  
There will be a graveside service Friday, February 17 at 1 p.m. at the Overton Cemetery with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating.    No Visitation.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pleasant View Bible Church.  Condolences may be e-mail to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.   
She was born April 11, 1926 in Lexington, to Lovell and Grace (Yerg) Hodgson.
Nola attended District 17 Country School and graduated from Lexington High School in 1944.  She received Her Associated Degree and Bachelors Degree from Nebraska Teachers College at Kearney.
Nola taught K-8 in various locations throughout Nebraska.  Country Schools in Dawson County, Beatrice Elementary, North Platte Elementary and Aurora Elementary.  She remembered many of her students she interacted with over the years.
Nola was a long-time member of Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Aurora Memorial Hospital, Plainsman Museum, Edgerton and various church activities.
She was a long-time community member of Aurora and in recent years, resided at the Westfield Care Center.
She will be remembered by family by playing a wicked game of Scrabble with family, loved to take care of house plants, visit with friends and neighbors and loving God with all her heart.  She was a student of the Bible.
Nola is survived by Tom and Tami Bednar of Grand Island, Bob and Sandy Bednar of Miller, Roger and Patty Evans of Lincoln, Lennis Hodgson of Kearney, Marlene Hodgson of Overton and Steve and Jeannie Hodgson of Hutchinson, Kansas.  Many great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles, her brother, Arbor Hodgson, sister Iona Shafer, and nephew David Hodgson.
