Marvin Williams, age 83, of Aurora, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 30 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Memorials may be made in care of the family. Marvin Owen Williams, the son of James and Vernie (Carlson) Williams, was born at Fairfield, on March 6, 1939 and passed away in Aurora, on November 25, 2022, at the age of 83.
He grew up in Saronville and attended a one room school house in Saronville. Marvin worked for a farmer in the area as a teenager.     
Marvin was united in marriage to Amanda Goertzen on March 24, 1962 at Henderson.  They lived in Verona for four years, while Marvin worked at an elevator.  They moved to Aurora in 1966 when he began working for the City of Aurora in the Water Department.  Marvin worked there for 35 years until retiring.
Marvin was a member of the United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Wayne Williams and Rogene Roby, brothers-in-law, Milt Goertzen, Everett Goertzen and Leo Goertzen and Rallie Trautman and sisters-in-law, LaRie Goertzen and Mavis Goertzen.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amanda of Aurora; sons, Jeff (GeorgeAnn) Williams of Grand Island, Brian (Lezlee) Williams of Lincoln; 5 grandchildren, Braden Williams of Lincoln, Sage Williams, Ty Williams and Cassie Stara, all of Grand Island and Stetson (Hannah) Stara of Waverly; great-granddaughter, Delilah of Waverly. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Erm Goertzen of Marquette, Jo Trautman of Holdrege, Elizabeth Bicknase of Aurora and Marlene (Bob) Watton of Lincoln; brothers-in-law, Johnny (Donna) Goertzen of Aurora and Denton Goertzen of Aurora and many other family members and friends.
