After many people are done eating a bag of candy or chips they toss it into the trash, but not Susan Gray. A few years ago she started turning bags and wrappers into coin purses, clutches, bags and more.
“My sister who lives in Wisconsin got me started on quilting and I go to this site called Missouri Star Quilt Company,” she recalled. “There’s a lady that does tutorials every Friday.
“One particular Friday she had a tutorial on making candy bag pouches,” she continued. “I thought that was really interesting so of course I had to try it.”
At first, she made bags for relatives and friends as gifts. That was when she began to wonder if she could sell them at craft shows.
