Though the topic of masks and COVID reopening phases at the 4R district had not drawn heavy discussion since shortly before the beginning of the school year, Supt. Jody Phillips brought the issue back into the light at Monday’s board meeting.
“This is just in light of the fact that now that, well number one we’re in green, I’ve had a few questions, mainly from staff, with regards to masks for staff,” Phillips reported. “Our current resolution, which is what we did back in August at the beginning of the school year, mandates in all the phases, masks for staff unless it’s instructionally not conducive.”
In the green phase in the 4R District, students are allowed to “opt out” of wearing masks if a waiver is signed. It is required in all other phases.
