Jury selected for Adams trial

Prosecution set to begin calling witnesses Tuesday

When members of the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners arrived at the courthouse for their regular 8:30 a.m. meeting Monday morning, there were no parking spaces available to them. That’s because jury selection had begun that morning for the Jeffrey Adams first-degree murder trial to be held in the third floor District Courtroom. However, by courthouse closing time later that afternoon, spaces had opened up since a 12-member jury had been impaneled just before 4:30 p.m.
The jury, which consists of six women and eight men (including two alternate jurors), will hear testimony in the case of the 48-year-old Adams, who is charged with first degree premeditated murder in the death of his wife, Angela. She was found dead in their Marquette home on Feb. 26, 2023. Adams, who was not home at the time of the discovery, turned himself in to authorities the day after the incident. He has been housed in the Hamilton County Jail ever since.
The prosecution was expected to begin calling witnesses against Adams on Tuesday morning in the trial which is expected to last 10 days, concluding on June 21.
