Herbster makes his pitch for governor
Falls City rancher proud of Trump’s endorsement
Charles Herbster made a campaign stop in Aurora Thursday, explaining why he believes his faith, business experience and conservative values make him the best choice to be Nebraska’s next governor.
Speaking to a crowd of 30 people at the Aurora Senior Center, the Fall City farmer and rancher who proudly touts the endorsement of former President Donald Trump spoke with passion about the reason he decided to throw his hat in the ring.
“I’m running for governor because I’m concerned for America,” he began. “I’m concerned for what’s taking place in this country (referring to a rate of inflation he said is the highest in 40 years). The three things that are going to be hit hardest with inflation are food, energy and health care. It affects every single person and for whatever reason the direction America is going I can share with you is the wrong direction.”
Sharing religious beliefs which he said have shaped his personal and professional life, Herbster said his main sense of motivation and the greatest thing that’s ever happened to him was when he and his wife accepted Jesus Christ in 1982.
