Position offered to ESU administrator
Giltner Supt. Nick Mumm was named as one of four finalists for the superintendent’s position at Summerland Public Schools, though it was announced earlier this month that the job went to another candidate.
According to a report published in the Summerland Advocate in Clearwater, four candidates were interviewed Feb. 6-7. Those candidates included Mumm; Molly Aschoff, assistant administrator at Educational Service Unit No. 8; Chris Lecher, Franklin Public Schools superintendent; and Nathan Weaver, K-12 principal and transportation director at Loomis Public Schools.
The Summerland School Board offered the position to Aschoff on Feb. 9, according to the Advocate.
Mumm has served as superintendent of Giltner Public Schools since 2020. He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees at UNK and a doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. For seven years, Mumm served as director of academic services at Elkhorn St. Patrick’s and has taught at Sandhills, in Dunning, and Superior. His first administrator job was at Santee.
