Aurora and Hampton sixth graders spent March 30 at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds, working their way through the process of inventing never-before-seen imaginary businesses and products that were then pitched in front of a panel of judges.
“Inventure Day is a field day experience for middle school youth designed to increase knowledge of local businesses, business owners and community opportunities,” said Deborah Fahrnbruch, Hamilton County 4-H coordinator. “Local entrepreneurs are engaged with the student teams as ‘mentors’ guiding the youth through the process of product development and business creation, which culminates in a quick-pitch competition.”
Fahrnbruch noted that the Extension was grateful for the community mentors and judges who volunteered their time and efforts for the day.
