Back again with good news, Hamilton County Emergency Manager Kirt Smith reported another downward trend in positive COVID-19 cases in Hamilton County.
“I come bearing good news this week,” he said. “Each week these numbers continue to go down.”
Over the last seven days, ending Feb. 24, Hamilton County had 11 new cases, Smith reported. This resulted in a 46 percent positivity rate -- which relates more to the percent of the population who got tested and what those results were.
“The Central District’s health area, the three counties, the positivity rate last week ending on the 24th was 26 percent,” he continued. “So we’re a long ways away from what we were at, so that’s good news.”
In terms of hospital capacity, Smith noted, that is also improving.
