Youth in need throughout Hamilton County are a little bit warmer this holiday season thanks to the community’s generosity.
Several organizations, including the Aurora firefighters’ union, have collected funds earmarked for the holidays, with a variety of items including coats, other clothing items and gifts distributed just in time for Christmas.
“This is the 37th year that our elementary school has partnered with local businesses, churches and organizations to provide essential items like shirts, pants, shoes and socks to our families that need the extra help for those basic needs,” noted Erlinda Amen, guidance counselor at Aurora Elementary. “I’ve never been in a community that has had such strong, supportive people helping them. It’s just … there are no words. We are blessed.”
