AHS bringing ‘Little Mermaid’ to life

Aurora High School’s long-awaited and highly-anticipated musical production -- Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” -- wraps up Saturday with a matinee and evening performance. Three of the lead characters offered personal insight and a sneak preview of the production in this week's ANR. Excitement had been growing among cast members for a number of weeks now and three of the leads were eager to sit down and reflect on the lead up to the big day. Watch for a recap story with input from Director Jason Frew as well as three other lead performers in next week's edition.

 

People of the Past

 The Aurora Middle School commons and gymnasium were filled with emotion, facts, figures, history and fun Thursday as nearly 100 middle school students brought “People of the Past” to life in what has become an annual Aurora tradition. Hundreds of spectators attended the event, dropping donations into the student’s jar 25 cents or more at a time to bring their characters to life.

 

Proctor receives one final tribute

A very special flag was posted near Bob Proctor’s coffin during Thursday’s visitation and Friday morning’s funeral at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, sending the Navy veteran one final salute before he was laid to rest.
