Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter to say “Thank You” to Mid-Nebraska Land Developers. To Aurora citizens who are not aware, they are the company who is doing the work on 1st Street.
They started working in the spring before school was dismissed for the summer and the drivers of the big side dumps were going through the neighborhood with caution and were courteous to all the parent traffic. I saw them pull over and let small children walk safely by before proceeding with their trips. The workers have been well mannered and helpful answering questions on the progress of this large undertaking for the city.
I hear the statement all the time, “Oh, they will never be done by the time school starts.” Well, they are doing their best as Mother Nature has given us some much-needed rain and it is impossible to do dirt work when it is MUD. They have laid cement on a large section by the school and just last night at 8 o’clock they were still at work cutting the cement. They are already on the job site at 7 in the morning when I ride my bike.
I am just one of many spectators who has been watching the progress all summer. I have seen them dig up dirt, put new dirt back down, pack the dirt, level the dirt and get it just right to lay the cement. It looks like a job well done from my point of view.
Thanks again to Robbie and Ryan Roberts and your crew for running a top class project for the citizens of Aurora. I hope the rest of the project continues to go well.
Glenna Markham,
Aurora
