Four Giltner veterans honored with quilts of valor Monday

Students honor veterans at Veterans Day program

  • Four Giltner veterans were honored with Quilts of Valor during Giltner Public Schools’ Veterans Day program. The quilts were presented by the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild, the Grand Island Quilt of Valor group. Veterans who received their quilt of valor includes, front from left: Allen Miller, Brian Miller, Kevin Miller, Kenneth Paul Colburn. The veterans were drapped with their quilts by Allen’s wife Kay, Janie Murphy, Darci Higgins Williamson and Kenneth’s wife Ann respectively during the ceremony.

    During the celebration of Veterans Day at Giltner Public Schools, students and staff honored four veterans who were each presented a Quilt of Valor  Monday afternoon.The quilts of valor ceremony was presented by the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild, the Grand Island Quilt of Valor group and the Hamilton Community Foundation.
